Does that make me crazy??

It's been awhile my friends. Life has been great, but it has been a roller coaster these past few months. There are several posts that remain unwritten. I have yet to write Nolan's 6 month newsletter. I have yet to write about planning Madeline's 2nd birthday or about the party itself. There are an abundance of work posts that could be written. It will happen. Eventually.

Do you ever have those dreams, that are so realistic, that you waking up wondering if it really happened? And then you think about it, and you're like well that was weird. I had one of those dreams the other day.

So in my dream, I was paragliding over this forest, with a lot of hills and trees, and really beautiful scenery. It was really nice, until I got over this one hill, and there was a man standing below yelling up at me. There were these two huge grizzly bears that looked like they were about to attack this man. All the man said to me was "Move out of the way lady." "Lady, turn around and get out of here." I turned around quickly and thankfully never saw him actually get attacked. As I turned around and headed the other direction, there was another bear in the distance. Maybe I was scared of being attacked myself, I woke up right as I was getting close to the bear.

That's weird right?

I was telling Daryl, and at the end of explaining my dream, I remember asking him "Daryl, right? That's a weird dream. Does that mean I'm crazy that I dream about bears attacking random people? I wonder what that means. I'm going to google it."

So I hopped on Google, and searched for a dream dictionary.

You guys, I may have found a new hobby.

OK so according to the dream dictionary:

Bear: To see a bear in your dream represents independence, strength, death and renewal, and/or resurrection. Bears of symbolic of the cycle of life. You may also be undergoing a period of introspection and thinking. In particular, if you see a bear in your grandmother's house, then it implies that your grandmother is a dominating figure in your life.

Parachute:To dream that you are in a parachute represents a protective force over you. You have a sense of security. Alternatively, the dream implies that it is time to bail out of a situation or abandon an old idea or habit.

After I read this, I started interpreting my own dream, and here is what I came up with.

Bear: Independence/ Strength/ Renewal. I have a new position at work, and am having to be strong as there are some complications outside of my control. More specific, a situation in which I am having to "grin and bear it."

Parachute: Without going into details, I am having to abandon an idea about work.

Pretty werid right? I have never really been into this kind of thing before, but it is so fascinating to me to put some meaning with those random dreams. What about you? Any dreams you can associate meaning to?

Hello World!

Holy cannoli!

It has been over an entire month since I have posted anything, much less been able to use my computer.

Good news: My computer is fixed and is working! And my dad was able to save all my pictures!! I was incredibly worried about this, but dad is a hero!

Bad news: I have yet to get an external hard drive. The ones I saw at best buy were a little expensive at the time, but I'm going to order one from amazon maybe.

There has been a lot going on this past month. Hopefully I will be able to post more later. I just wanted to keep this short, sweet and to the point. I haven't disappeared. I am still here.... so hello world! I've missed you.

So Scentsy

There are tons of updates that I plan to write a post about, but will have to save those for another time when I am actually able to sit down and write. Preferably when I am not at work.

I love candles. They look nice. They are an easy decorative piece. They smell good when they are not too strong. They can be romantic.

There are 2 things I don't like about candles. 1) The really nice ones can be expensive 2) Eventually, you burn them so much, you can't light the wick.

A few weeks ago, my mom hosted a Scentsy party.

I didn't really know what to expect. I was just planning on showing up to support mom. I wasn't planning on ordering anything, but I totally ordered a bit more than I expected.

These wick less candles are awesome! you plug them in and place the wax on top. The light bulb generates heat and causes the wax to melt.

I package I ordered came with 6 scents. There are so many to choose from. I got a good mix of scents that smell like delicious smells from the kitchen (Blueberry Cheesecake, Hazelnut Latte, and Black Raspberry Vanilla) and some scents for "him" like Titanium and Zeppelin.

My mom now has 3 of the Scentsy Buddies- Mollie the Monkey, Patch the Dog, and Ribbert the Frog. She got one for all the grandchildren, and even though Mollie was bought for Madeline, my little Madeline loves all of them. She carries Ribbert around the house and holds him when she takes her nap over at mom and dad's house.

I am thinking that one of my Scentsy warmers will be used in my classroom next year. Maybe coming into a room that smells like cupcakes will keep my students' attention.

Down for the Count

My computer at home is sick!

The other day, Daryl had been working on it and was having some trouble. He went to restart, and nothing happened. It started to load, the Windows screen comes up, and then nothing. There is a black screen, the cursor moves, but no beeps, no lights, nothing. Any ideas on what could possibly be going on here??

I tried to get it to load in safe mode when I got home, but still nothing. I have been having these mild panic attack moments at the thought of losing all my pictures which have yet to be printed.

Daryl and I had been talking about getting an external hard drive so I could save some of the files from work. It never fails right? We have yet to get one, and my computer crashes.

I'm sorry for the unanticipated blog vacation I've seemed to take. I'm still here. I can't blog from work everyday, like I'm doing right now. I am trying to get it fixed sometime soon. I don't know when I'll be back again, but I am still here.

All good things must come to an end

April has come and gone.

I survived completed the A to Z blog challenge, and now it's time to reflect.

I really enjoyed this challenge! I loved that it forced me to be a bit creative with my posts. I often find myself not posting because I don't have anything to write about. Things get hectic, and busy, and routine, and I say all the time "well it's just like every other day, and it's boring. Who wants to read about that? I was able to write about all kinds of things and draw out some of emotion, rather than just writing about "stuff."

Because of my hectic schedule, I had to do a lot of back dating. I got my posts done, but at times felt like just that. I wrote something down just to say I posted something. Not my best thoughts for sure. I even got to test out the schedule setting. Oh my goodness! I have seen this on the side bar in the post settings, and always just over looked it. I really did think that bloggers posted their posts at 8 am Monday morning at work. How the heck do these people do it?? And then the light bulb went off. Ohhhh they just "schedule" the post for a specific day. Please excuse my blonde moment there.

I visited a lot of blogs and found new sites I enjoyed. While I didn't always have time to read everyday, I enjoyed seeing how different the topics were. I commented and followed, and enjoyed seeing these numbers  go up on my own page. I like this sense of community, and have received some great advice/ ideas.

I know this is a "to each is own" type thought, but I am a little confused in regards to responding to comments.  As I was exploring other blogs, I found that some people responded to a few here and there, and answered questions that came up from their readers, and others responded to every comment posted. I have read all the comments and I greatly appreciate each and every one of them, but is there an etiquette in responding to comments? Just wondering?

I don't know if I had a favorite posts. There were a lot I enjoyed writing. I am looking forward to participating in the challenge next year.

Zucchini Muffins

Z is for Zucchini Muffins

Daryl is the professional cook at our house. While he doesn't particularly care for baking much, he sure is good at it. He whipped up these zucchini muffins one time, and I'll be honest, I thought they were going to taste like vegetables. Boy was I wrong! His zucchini muffins were thebomb.com. They were sweet and moist, and not to mention a tad bit healthier than the other types of muffins I would typically eat. As I mentioned in my tips for healthy eating, zucchini muffins are one of my new favorite snacks.

Zucchini Muffins (Taste of Home Recipe)

Ingredients

•3/4 cup all-purpose flour

•1/2 cup sugar

•1/4 teaspoon baking powder

•1/4 teaspoon baking soda

•1/4 teaspoon salt

•1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

•1 egg

•1/4 cup canola oil

•1 cup finely shredded unpeeled zucchini

•1/2 cup chopped walnuts

•1/4 cup dried currants or chopped raisins

I saw it on You Tube

April is quickly coming to an end, and I only have 2 more days of the A to Z blog challenge.

Y is for You Tube

Source
I love youtube! You might remember my Make Me Laugh post where I highlighted some of my all time favorite youtube videos.

Youtube. Oh what would I do without this website??

I am always trying to find new online gems that relate to topics of discussion in my class room. I have used youtube to find commercials to allow us to discuss the hidden media messages and bust through the advertising. I have shown clips on mental disorders, bullying and cyber bullying, the dangers of alcohol and drug use. You name it, and I have found a youtube video to share with my class.

So many times I find myself even saying out loud, "Oh just go on youtube."

Inspire Daryl to want to do a Mud Run- Saw that on youtube.

Scrapbooking techniques- found it on youtube

Remind myself how to do a shoulder special test- yeah I found that on youtube.

Even my dad is a youtube fan. He learned how to tile his bathroom watching youtube videos.

Technology is pretty amazing, and I love this website!!
